After today’s closing round at Clay Pigeon, the title winners are:
Race winners:
In Formula A Chris Rogers took the title with a mesmerising comeback drive through the field to win Clay Pigeon’s second final to add to his earlier victory in the first. Rogers set up his title push with a perfect score in the heats. Then, in final one, he overcame outgoing champion and team-mate Mark Litchfield for the first of his victories. But he had a much tougher ride in final two after being pushed out almost to last at the start. Rogers was not to be denied, however, as he quickly scythed through the order to again pass Litchfield for the win.
At his third attempt, Oliver Rowland took the JICA title in Clay Pigeon’s final rounds, although the celebrations had to be put on hold as, like many, he gambled incorrectly on slick tyres in a rain-affected race one and slithered down the order. The race was won by Jordan Chamberlain who, right at the end, passed long-time leader Max Goff. In race two, though, Rowland was able to virtually cruise to the title, finishing third behind European champion Jack Harvey and Tom Joyner after a brief spell in the lead.
I believe this will have been the last ever British 100cc (barring JTKM) race!
