Kartlink covers international kart racing and is the only British website to regularly be in the paddock at most of the World and European meetings.
Formula Kart Productions, Inc. announced today its intent to include the CIK KF2 and KF3 categories in the 2008 Formula Kart Racing Florida Winter Tour. Located in Florida in the United States, the FWT is one of the longest running and largest sprint kart racing series in the world.
FKP’s Bill Wright; “Over the last six months I received many requests to include the KF categories in the 2008 FWT. Due to the lack of accurate information available in the United States, I determined it was necessary to attend the 2007 CIK World Karting Championships so that I could gather information directly from the appropriate sources. After an exhausting on-site analysis of the current CIK/KF situation, we have decided that we will provide the opportunity for those who’ve been requesting it. It is important to note that we will not exclude the ICA and JICA categories, but will provide separate classes for both the old and the new homologations.”
“Since our arrival at Mariembourg, we have received a surprisingly substantial number of additional inquiries and statements of intent to participate in the ’08 FWT. I am confident that after the release of this information, we will see even more interest from the worldwide karting community.”
Details of the KF inclusion will be released as soon as possible, but no later than October 31.
For the 9th straight year the 2007 FWT set records for entries and awards, averaging 551 entries per event, including drivers from 15 different countries, 24 U.S. states and five Canadian provinces, with total retail value of cash purse and awards exceeded $63,000. The 10th Annual 2008 FWT is shaping up to be the largest, most geographically diverse and highly awarded FWT ever, and will include direct qualifying status to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF).
