Ouellette dominates in Dubai

Québec driver Pier-Luc Ouellette, originally from Terrebonne, has made an important decision for the 2008 world title as he will start from pole position tomorrow morning for the final after dominating in qualifying and winning all three qualifying heats.

The Québec driver committed no mistakes on the Al Ain track in the Arab Emirates. After performing at his highest level, Pier-Luc dominated every lap on-track. He had a comfortable lead of 3,8, 4,0 and 3,7 seconds from his closest rivals in his three qualifying heats.

“The qualifying heats are 11 lap races and it was very important for me not to make any mistakes so that I can start the race from pole position. Also, I didn’t know many drivers and I didn’t want to take the chance and have a kamikaze hit me. I pushed my kart as fast as I could from beginning to end. It paid off! I have to continue on this note and stay consistent with my results,” explains Pier-Luc Ouellette

“Located in the dessert, Al Ain is a modern track with F1 type configurations. Due to its strong winds, large amounts of dirt are left on the track and this makes it very slippery when driving.” explains Ouellette.

Pier-Luc Ouellette is the 2007 official driver of the Australian Kart Manufacturer Arrow and is sponsored by SRA karting team and 24 Power drink.
