Kartlink covers international kart racing and is the only British website to regularly be in the paddock at most of the World and European meetings.
It is now official, the Micro-Max class will join the Rotax Max Family program at the Florida Winter Tour. The class was officially presented at the last round of the Euro Challenge in Genk, Belgium, on September 30th.
Bill Wright, from Formula kart Production and promoter of the Florida Winter Tour, was a privileged witness of this exhibition race and was very impressed by the driving skills of these young drivers.
According to Bill Wright, “This class fills an empty space in our Rotax Program. Lots of young drivers are already driving a kart but they have nowhere to race or it is difficult for them to race outside their club due to the difference of the regulations and equipment from one club to another. Using the same Rotax philosophy found in their other classes, well known by the karting community, we will now be able to serve drivers aged from 7 to 9 with the Micro-Max class.”
Sales manager for the kart business at BRP-Rotax, Christian Mundigler, explained the BRP-Rotax kart engine evolution concept: “We started the 125 MICRO MAX project at BRP-Rotax to offer kids fun, encourage their skills, inspire their emotions, and raise family teamwork. I am proud to be part of this project! The Florida Winter Tour is a perfect location to show the Americas our race drivers of tomorrow – our MICRO MAX kids. Fairness, safety, reliability, and real sportsmanship are our fundamental values and it is important to engrain them in our young racers from the very beginning.”
With minor upgrades, the MICRO MAX can be converted to a Mini Max, JUNIOR MAX and even a SENIOR MAX - a concept that offers the owner one engine for an entire kart racing career.
