2008 lineup announced for Team France
The FFSA has announced their new coach and the 2008 drivers. 1999 European Champion Julien Poncelet takes over from Franck Lagorce as coach and ten drivers will be supported. They are:
- Thomas Mich age 20, racing in KZ1 with Birel. He rejoins the team as a gearbox specialist and factory Birel driver after a successful 2007.
- Anthony Abbasse age 19, racing in KF1, KZ1 and KZ2 with Sodikart. He was 4th in the World Championship in 2007 and also French KF1 champion.
- Alban Varutti age 22, racing in KF1, KZ1 and KZ2 with Sodikart. 5th at the World Championship in 2007 and the most experienced member of the team.
- Norman Nato age 15, racing in KF1 and KZ2 with Intrepid. Winner of the 2007 Race of Champions in Spain.
- Charles Lacaze age 17, racing in KF2 and KZ2 with Malevaut Sport/Tonykart. 2007 French KF2 champion.
- Loïc Réguillon age 17, racing in KF2 with Braun Racing/Sodikart. He was second in French KF2 last year.
- William Benedetti age 16, racing in KF2 with Kosmic.
- Julien Deschamps age 16, racing in KF2. He was noticed after his incredible 5th position at the 2007 World Cup.
- Brandon Maïsano age 14, racing in KF3 with Intrepid. Must be one of the favourites in KF3 this year along with Taylor and Goff.
- Jonathan Hélias age 13, also racing in KF3 with Intrepid. He is the reigning French Cadet champion.
As usual, the drivers will get a choice between going car racing or making their career in karting.
