British F3 International Series - Rounds 9 & 10

In brilliant sunshine at Snetterton Michael Devaney made British Formula 3 history by scoring the first ever win for a Mygale, the first time a Dallara hasn’t won since Danny Watts in June 2004. Devaney’s achievement was also the first British F3 victory for himself and his Ultimate Motorsport team. He then went on to repeat the performance in the second race of the day.

In Round 9 the Irishman led from the start holding off a very determined Jaime Alguersuari for the entire 28-lap race. It was a double podium for Red Bull as Brendon Hartley took his third podium of the season. Jay Bridger took a well deserved victory in the National Class well ahead of a resurgent Andy Meyrick and Columbian Steven Guerrero.

In Round 10 Devaney started 4th but made up two places at the first corner, ending the first lap just behind pole sitter Brendon Hartley. On lap 5 Hartley spun out at Riches handing the lead to Devaney, who had to fend off the challenge of Sebastian Hohenthal. Jaime Alguersuari passed Atte Mustonen and Sergio Perez to finish 3rd and secured the extra point for fastest lap which enabled the Spaniard to leave Snetterton as championship leader with 99 points to Perez’s 98.

Stefan Wilson took a solid first win from pole in the National Class, finishing in the top 10 overall ahead of his Fluid Motorsport teammate Jay Bridger. Andy Meyrick crashed out of the race enabling Bridger to close the points gap to just 7 points as the British F3 International Series heads to Thruxton on June 29.
