Kartlink covers international kart racing and is the only British website to regularly be in the paddock at most of the World and European meetings.
This weekend saw the first major race of 2008 get under way with the Junior KF3 honours going in dominant fashion to the flying Dutchman Nick De Vries. Nick, in his first year of top flight racing, has showed amazing pace at all races so far this year aboard his XTR powered Zanardi kart.
The weekend was a complete whitewash from Nick and his Keijzer team. Nick started strong by clinching pole position in qualifying, then winning both finals with some 2.5 secs between him and second placed Intrepid/TM mounted Brandon Maisano. Nick commented, “We have been very quick ever since we took delivery of our 2008 Equipment, it was a massive step forward from last year and also the XTR’s have been bulletproof.”
Zanardi boss Dino Chiesa underlined Nick’s enthusiasm: “We have worked hard over the winter perfecting our kart design for the new harder tyres and with our young KF1 driver also showing great speed by finishing on the podium, it seems the hard work from everyone involved has paid off”
