Formula Kart Productions today released the official 2009 Florida Winter Tour dates and venues.
The Florida based karting series, consisting of the largest Rotax Max Challenge series in the world and the only North American series offering the CIK KF categories, is arguably the largest sprint karting series in the America’s, and one of the largest in the world. The 2009 FWT will continue with the double-race-weekend format adopted in 2004, and the twice-a-month format adopted in 2007, providing the best opportunity to maximize the “Serious Fun!” that has become the trademark of this popular racing program.
The “first” weekend of each of the three months of competition will feature the FWT International Rotax Max Challenge, an international, open license Rotax Max Challenge. Champions from that series will be awarded direct-transfer spots to the 2009 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals and the U.S. and Mexican Rotax Grand Nationals. Other awards for the FWT IRMC include Skip Barber Racing School 3-day Driver Schools, an exclusive Ferrari Driving Experience weekend at Mont Tremblant, Canada, and several other valuable awards. The retail value of all the awards available at the 2009 FWT IRMC is currently in access of $65,000.

The “second” weekend of each of the three months competition will feature a mixture of CIK and U.S. classes. KZ2, KF2 and KF3 are the “CIK” offerings, while the U.S. karting scene is represented by TaG Senior and TaG Junior, Stock Moto (Honda CR Shifter), Masters Shifter (KZ2 or “Open Moto”), and Comer 80 Cadet. Formula Kart is currently in negotiations to gain wild card berths to the CIK World Cups for our CIK class Champions. In addition to that possibility, there will once again be a $20,000 cash purse, 2 additional Skip Barber 3-day Driver Schools, and several other outstanding awards available to the Formula Kart weekend’s participants, for a total retail value in access of $50,000
