Kartlink covers international kart racing and is the only British website to regularly be in the paddock at most of the World and European meetings.
Mick Betsch, Schumacher’s 9-year-old son, has made his racing debut in the RACC Open event at Sils in Catalonia. He was run by Monlau Competition and accompanied by his grandfather to avoid having the event turn into a media circus.
RACC Open is a class for 7-11 year olds and is designed to be cheap at €290 per race, but it’s fairly obvious that he’s racing in Spain for privacy reasons rather than to save money… All drivers use Alonso Cadet chassis and Parilla Gazelle engines.
Mick finished 8th and 10th and will compete in the next three races of the series.
Here’s the story translated into English and the original in Spanish.
