Plenty of Victories and Titles for Intrepid in Rotax

At Genk, in Belgium, Intrepid chassis showed extraordinary performances on the final of the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, by winning in three out of four categories: Rotax Senior, Rotax Junior and Rotax Master! In addition to that, two Intrepid drivers also won the European title, while the Italian brand conquered the “chassis” title in the Rotax Junior and Rotax Master. Regardless of the category, the Cruiser model by the Italian manufacturer demonstrated once again its extreme competitiveness.

Chassis supplier for the last two major world finals in the Rotax Max, Intrepid has always worked hard to achieve top performances in these categories, which are very popular both in Europe and in the rest of the world. Several drivers and teams chose Intrepid chassis in 2008 and never regretted their decision. After some excellent results achieved during the season, Intrepid drivers finished their European campaign in Belgium on a high note.

In the top category (Rotax Max Senior), with 72 entered participants, the Dutch driver Mats Van den Brand (TKP team) reached the leadership in the qualifying phase. After a brilliant second place in the pre-final, he took a dominant win in the final and climbed on the first step of the podium, where he found again Australian Josh Hart (Intrepid Force). Also at the wheel of an Intrepid chassis, Hart was third in the overall ranking in 2008. In the pre-final, the Intrepid chas-sis driven by Polish Karol Dabski (Univerpal Karting) showed some excellent performances and conquered the third place just behind Van den Brand.

In Rotax Junior, Intrepid chassis literally dominated the category. Kevin Korjus (TKP team), Dylan Le Haye (EGP team) and Aavo Talvar (Talvar Racing) were the winning trio in the pre-final, while Tatiana Calderon was fifth. That is 4 Intrepid in the first 5 places! The final was just a confirmation of Intrepid supremacy, with a victory by Estonian Korjus, who conquered the 2008 title. His compatriot Talvar ensured the second success and Belgian Le Haye finished fourth. The best “rookie” of the season was Dutch Peter Hoevenaard, who drove a TKP Team Intrepid chassis.

Third in the pre-final of the Rotax Master, Cristiano Morgado (Korridas) achieved a double success on the final. His superb victory on the final allowed him to conquer the Rotax Max Euro Challenge 2008. This great animator of the category largely contributed to Intrepid’s victory in the “best chassis” ranking, a consecration that Intrepid had already achieved in Rotax Junior. In Rotax DD2, Austrian Dominik Kraihamer (Intrepid Force) always fought it out among the leaders. After an excellent second place in the pre-final, a rank he had already reached during timed practice and maintained after the qualifying heats, Kraihamer kept his momentum and brilliantly climbed on the third step of the podium. The Austrian driver was therefore vice champion at the end of a weekend definitely favourable to the Intrepid chassis, which left its mark on the competition!
