Martin Plowman is set to contest the Zandvoort Masters of F3 for the first time on 8-10 August, which will once again be held at the Belgium circuit of Zolder. The prestigious annual event attracts the best drivers from Formula 3 championships across Europe, particularly from the Formula 3 Euro Series and British F3 International Championship, ensuring fierce competition for the coveted title.
Plowman’s Formula 3 Euro Series team, RC Motorsport, will not be entering the event and so the team has given its blessing for Plowman to race with fellow Volkswagen powered team, Signature. A rookie in the Formula 3 Euro Series, Plowman is relishing the opportunity to compete in Europe’s most important Formula 3 race but will be treating the outing as an experience-building exercise.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Formula 3’s biggest event,” said Plowman. “I’m not expecting to achieve outstanding results in my first year competing in this prestigious race but the experience will be invaluable; not only competing against the cream of Formula 3 drivers but also in learning the Zolder circuit in preparation for next year’s Euro Series round. None the less, I am looking forward to it.”
The Zandvoort Masters of F3 at Zolder action starts with practice on Friday afternoon followed by qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
