Return to form for Litchfield on switch to Maranello

A change of kart chassis for British champion Mark Litchfield brought good fortune in the shape of two heat wins and the first final, but works Topkart driver Jordon Lennox-Lamb put in a stunning drive from the back to win the second final. Lennox-Lamb had just taken over the lead of the first final when his engine reed petals failed, forcing retirement and a back row start position for the second race.

Then with a Maranello kart borrowed from multiple World Champion Davidé Foré, Litchfield came out top of an exciting dice with Chris Rogers, leaving Lee Bell barely in touch, and holding off first round winner Richard Bradley. Litchfield and Rogers resumed battle in the second final, trading the lead, but this time Rogers’ engine seized for an instant retirement.

Then Lennox-Lamb came storming through to claim the lead and the win, leaving Litchfield in the mix of a jostling group of karts. Bradley snatched second place with Lee Bell following, whilst Jonathan Walker put Litchfield down to fifth.

They all moved up when Bradley was excluded for having missed entering his chassis seal number on his scrutineering card, which has dropped him to fourteenth in the points standing.
