Snap-on Stars of Karting and Formula BMW Americas Partner at Miller Motorsports Park

The second round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting will offer 10 lucky karters the opportunity to sample a form of motorsports that many of them hope will be in their future.

Formula BMW Americas has arranged to allow ten drivers that were born prior to December 31, 1993 the opportunity to test the Formula BMW FB02 race car on Friday, April 25, 2008. The drive event will take place after the on-track racing activity has concluded for the karters and will take place on the 2.24 mile Eastern Circuit.

In order to be eligible for inclusion for the test, the participants must register for the opportunity by Friday April 18, 2008. The ten winning drivers will be notified on Monday, April 21, 2008. The drive event will include a late afternoon classroom session and seat fitting on Thursday, April 24.

Miller Motorsports Park provides an ideal location for the event thanks to the facility’s world-class karting circuit and road racing facility. For Formula BMW Americas, the event provides the series with an opportunity to connect with many up-and-coming open-wheel racing hopefuls. More than 40% of the drivers that have raced in the Formula BMW Americas Series are Stars of Karting alumni.

In addition to the ten-driver track event, Formula BMW Americas will host a catered reception from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for all of the Stars of Karting participants and families. This event will be open to anyone on site and will feature food and non-alcoholic refreshments.

A registration card will be mailed to all pre-registered competitors for the West #1 round of Stars of Karting. In addition, if an individual that is interested that has not yet registered would like to have a card sent to them, please contact Michele Henn at Formula BMW Americas via email (michele.henn@partner.formulabmw.com) or Mykala Terrel from Stars of Karting (mykala@starsofkarting.com).
