Kenneally takes sensational Winter Cup win
OK-Junior driver Fin Kenneally has continued his good form from the WSK Champions Cup with a win in the Winter Cup, the most prestigious early-season race. His biggest rival was his team-mate Timothy Peisselon who lost out after an attack from Ivan Shvetsov.
Timothy Peisselon (FA Kart / Vortex) was alone at the head of Prefinal A for OK-Junior. Fin Kenneally (FA Kart / Vortex) tried to reduce the gap after overtaking Guido Moggia (Tony Kart / Vortex), but Peisselon won by a second. Pavel Bulanzev (Tony Kart / Vortex) moved up 11 places to finish 3rd ahead of Noah Watt (Tony Kart / TM) who lost six places on the first lap and returned to 4th.
Prefinal B was led from start to finish by Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart / Vortex). Frederik Vesti (Exprit / Vortex) confirmed his position in 2nd place, while Oscar Piastri (FA Kart / Vortex) moved up to 3rd position ahead of Dennis Hauger (CRG / Parilla).
Peisselon completed the first laps of the Final in the lead, but his teammate at RFM, Kenneally surprised him to take the lead just before the halfway point. Shvetsov joined the lead battle, a little too enthusiastically as he hustled into the left hairpin with Peisselon and both drivers lost some time, when victory was still in full debate. Watt came back to 4th from Hauger.
Shvetsov was then penalised 2.36s which gave 2nd place to Peisselon
