Honda exhaust solution announced
The MSA has approved a solution to the problems reported recently with the Honda GX160 exhaust mounting.
Exhausts are now required to have a 1.8mm leash securing the pipe to the bracket, and kits have been made available to meeting organisers from this weekend, although you can use your own solution if it meets the requirements.
The extra support modifications available and included on production units since the end of April will become compulsory from 1st September, and all units must be returned to the manufacturer for this to be done by 1st September.
By 1st September 2016 all DEP001 exhausts must have been returned to the manufacturer for a modification including a suitable leash mounting point and an exhaust support bracket and additional welding. All exhausts used in Honda Cadet from 1st September 2016 must have these modifications.
The official notice includes photos and exact details of the leash required.
