The undulating karting road course at USA International Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin proved to be a challenging venue for the drivers running for the Trois-Rivieres-based PSL Karting team as they headed back to the United States this past weekend to compete in the Snap-on Stars of Karting Presented by IndyCar Series national championship.
The paddock had the opportunity to see what the ICC competition would look like without powerhouse Gary Carlton in the line-up as the two-time defending champion suffered mechanical failures in both finals, opening the door for some great racing for the top step of the podium.
After wrapping up the trio of heat races with the final motos Sunday morning, the first main events of the Stars of Karting Western Division filled what was a great afternoon of competition. The primary championship contenders stepped to the forefront at Miller Motorsport Park today, as in four of the five classes, the winners swept both main events.

The series will make its second visit outside the city of Salt Lake City, moving the date from the hot month of July to the calm and comfortable month of April.

Battling both the weather and tough competition, success for PSL continued in the shifter category as the CRG importer brought home victory in the headline ICC category by way of Californian Fritz Leesmann.
After two days of good weather, tempered by a small storm cell that dampened a few races on Saturday, the call for scattered thunderstorms became the reality at the weekend as hard rain hit the Snap-on Stars of Karting circuit in its Eastern Division opener at the Ocala Grand Prix Racing in Central Florida.
