Birel Academy launched by ACR
Birel Spa and their UK Importer Andy Cox are joining forces and are to launch “The Birel academy” for the UK – so what is it?
UK Birel boss Andy Cox explains all:
“It’s almost perfect timing for the Birel academy with Lewis Hamilton just wrapping up the F1 World title! As a company we think that there are many drivers out there that could be great drivers and have real talent and potential. As a brand Birel is synonymous with many drivers that have gone on to F1 or successful racing car careers, Robert Kubica being Birel’s most recent protégé.
Many people look at the KF classes for up and coming drivers but we think that the national club races are where such drivers could emerge. It is important for a driver to learn how to win a club championship first before going on to a national championship – too many people try a national championship too early and either get disappointed, run out of budget or end up giving up and this leaves the local kart clubs that are so important to karting struggling to get entries and substantial grids.
With The Birel Academy we are going to offer some fantastic offers and opportunities solely for the club karter and reward them financially and technically for choosing Birel and choosing to support their local kart club “
Birel UK are looking for 9 drivers per kart club, 3 drivers from mini max, 3 drivers from Junior Max and 3 drivers from senior max competing at the following clubs:
Buckmore Park, Bayford Meadows, Clay Pigeon, Dunkswell, Kimbolton, Llandow, Larkhall, Motorsport Ireland, Nutts Corner, PFI, Rowrah, Rissington, Rye House, Shenington, Three Sisters, Teeside karting, Whilton Mill, Wombwell.
Drivers interested in applying for “The Birel Academy” can complete the application form by clicking here. Successful applicants will be offered the Birel Academy package which will include a very special offer on the new 2009 Birel Chassis the RY30 S1 plus attractive savings on their spare parts for their season.
Each academy driver will have their own page on Birel UK’s website where they can upload their results and use for self promotion.
At the end of the 2009 season the Junior and Senior driver with the most Final wins from their nominated club will travel to Italy courtesy of Birel UK to test with the Official Birel Motorsport team in a KF3 for the Junior and KF2 for the Senior – a real opportunity to for a driver to show off their talent to probably the most famous kart manufacturer in the world!
