DR tastes success with Luka at Sarno
The second round of the WSK has been a very hard test round for the young DR Racing Team, a test that the team headed by the five-times World Champion has managed to pass brilliantly. The heavy rain Thursday and Friday and changeable weather conditions on the Saturday that changed track conditions continuously made it impossible to carry out tests, while on Sunday warm sunshine bathed the track in Sarno.
Variable weather conditions underlined the drivers’ technical and setting up skill stand out, not to mention the driving skill in KF2, the skill of drivers like Sami Luka who was already outstanding in the previous races. The Belgian was great in qualifying heats taking two wins and getting first row prefinal start.
After a hard fought race, Luka managed to grab second but dropped back as the race drew to an end. “It was a shame for Sami who was racing as a protagonist, but the overall results in Sarno are good,” said Danilo Rossi, “We tested in all sorts of weather, and seeing how young the drivers and the team are we’ll make good use of this in future races. We have been competitive and managed to react in many different situations. I’m very happy with the results.”
