Maranello Kart report from Sarno
During the second round of WSK International Series Maranello Kart drivers were once again absolute leaders of this prestigious international series. The podium came in fact with great satisfaction for the British Max Goff who was third in the KF2 final in the second date of the season in Sarno during the races of the categories KF2, KF3 and the new entry KZ2.
There was a difficult start of the weekend due to bad weather which influenced of course the races. That didn’t help the development of new solutions even if the technical and competitive commitment was huge and anyway, apart from the weather, there was also a bit of misfortune otherwise Maranello Kart colours could have been much more successful.
The British Max Goff won the podium in KF2 for Maranello after an excellent second place at the recent Winter Cup. He could climb up to the third position during the prefinal thus hitting the target after a good recovery from the 15th place of the start. Then Goff reached the third position after the first troubled laps in the final and kept the same till the finish behind Matteo Viganò and Felice Thiene, proving to be one of the best drivers at all.
Also the Czech Michal Fousek was running a very good race in the same final, with a progression in the first laps that put him behind the leaders but was then forced to withdraw.
The other Maranello Kart drivers were quite unlucky, especially the Finnish Joni Wiman and Eduard Cheever, who didn’t get into the final. They were respectively 7th and 8th in the repechage, while the British George Blundell got involved in a “race-jam” and couldn’t fight for the podium.
