Tom Grice leaves CRG for Birel

February 15, 2009

Tom Grice has announced that he is leaving CRG Holland for Birel Motorsport after misunderstandings between CRG, Maxter and CRG Holland. The 16-year-old will replace Jack Harvey in Super KF and KF1, and will race in the new colours for the first time at the Winer Cup next weekend at Lonato.

Tom’s father Ricky said, “We were placed in a difficult situation in having to find a new drive in February, and we hadn’t even considered Birel originally as they had their drivers signed up early on. But after Jack left for Formula BMW there was a chance for us so we’re very positive, especially after Cesetti’s win at La Conca.”

Tom is looking forward to the season with new energy – “I haven’t tested with Birel yet but will on Monday at the Winter Cup. But from the looks of WSK La Conca they looked very good. I know that this season will be very successful with Birel as they are a great team, and now I just need confidence in my driving…”
