March 1, 2013 Norris and Ilott land two superpoles for Britain

Lando Norris (Alonso/Vortex) from RFM took pole at La Conca in KFJ for the opening round of the WSK Euro Series in 2013 before again dominating Superpole where he improved his time by 0.4s! Leonardo Lorandi (Tony/Vortex) was ahead of his brother Alessio for the first time at this level by taking 3rd. The American Devlin DeFrancesco (CRG/Vortex) took part in Superpole for the first time.

Callum Ilott (Zanardi/Parilla) of Team Oakes was fastest in KF, leading Qualifying and winning the Superpole with a significant improvement by almost 0.4s. In 2nd, the Croatian Martin Kodric (Alonso/Vortex) was behind by more than 0.2s. Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic/Vortex) was still among the best with his third fastest time, followed by five drivers in the same tenth. Very fast in free practice, Armand Convers (Kosmic/Vortex) retired after two laps in Qualifying, with an engine problem.

Francesco Celenta set the fastest lap in KZ2 on a 45.246s on a Zanardi / TM, while Fabian Federer took his CRG/Modena to the top of KZ1 with a time of 45.196s.

Young drivers showed their teeth in the elite category, KZ1, with Charles Leclerc (ART/TM) then Max Verstappen (CRG/TM) less than a tenth off pole. Ben Hanley (ART/TM) and Kozlinski (Birel/TM) were still very convincing in 5th and 6th places. Celenta beat Riccardo Negro (DR/TM) in KZ2, with a beautiful performance from Marijn Kremers (Birel/TM) in 3rd position.
