KZ1
The Dutch driver Jorrit Pex (CRG/TM) had no hesitation in leading from start to finish in Final 1 for KZ1 at Zuera. First Ben Hanley (ART/TM) tried to dislodge him, but in vain, then Paolo De Conto (Birel/BMB) took over without success, despite setting the fastest lap. Patrik Hajek (Praga/Parilla) long occupied 4th place before being passed on the last lap by Jonathan Thonon (CRG/Maxter). Davide Fore (CRG/Maxter) finished 6th behind the Czech driver.
KZ2
Simas Juodvirsis (Energy/TM) led 11 of the 12 laps of Final 1 in KZ2 but Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG/Maxter) came through, ignoring the opponents in his way. Taking advantage of a duel between Mirko Torsellini (Tony/Vortex) and Riccardo Negro (DR/TM), Lennox went on the attack when Negro stumbled after six laps, destabilizing the two drivers who were left in the dust. Torsellini retired and returned to the pits quite upset, while Negro was trying to save his championship points. Lennox-Lamb then came back to the leader, Juodvirsis tried to defend on the last lap. But the Briton managed a superb overtaking move on the last corner, the big fast right before the finish. Philip Orcic (CRG/TM) finished 3rd after resisting attacks from Joel Johansson (Energy/TM).
The gearbox drivers will have two more heats and a Final each today (Sunday) which will decide the championships.
